Our client is a distributor that runs more than one trading company under the same group. Much of their stock is serialised, so their customers need to know exactly which unit they received, and the client needs proof of exactly what left the building. We connected their central business system to the warehouse floor, so staff pack from the live order, check every unit as they go and finish with a clear, photo backed proof of dispatch.
Orders lived in the client's central business system. Dispatch happened on the warehouse floor. Nothing connected the two.

The client wanted warehouse staff to work from the live order, check every unit as it was packed and produce clear proof at the end.
We reviewed the client's architecture and the business system's interfaces, and worked closely with their business system developer. Before writing any feature code, we tested the live interfaces directly against real data to confirm how they actually behaved. That early testing shaped the whole design.

The server looks the order up in real time and returns every line to pack, with item code, description, quantity and valid barcodes. The dispatch number tells the system which trading company the order belongs to, so the right one is used automatically.
The app builds one packing line per item. For each unit, staff scan the serial number and the barcode, and the app checks both against the live order. Items without serial numbers skip that scan.
For each dispatch type, the client decides what happens when a scan doesn't match. Block the dispatch completely, or allow a supervisor to override it. Every override is recorded.
A photo can be required for every packing line. It's linked to that exact line, so the evidence always sits next to the item it proves.
Every line, serial number, scan result, override and photo in one clear report. Staff can show it to a customer the moment a question comes up.
Every lookup against the business system is stored, including what was asked and what came back. The client can see exactly what the business system said at the time of packing.
The office and the warehouse floor now work from the same live information, and every delivery comes with proof.
